1.1 Camera permission

Purpose: Document scanning, OCR, and image translation so you can turn images into editable text, summaries, and saved notes.

Handling: Processing happens on‑device where possible. If you enable cloud OCR/translation, images or extracted text may be sent to trusted providers solely to fulfil your request. We do not keep original images on our servers.

Storage: When you choose to save or enable auto‑save, extracted text, translations, summaries, and metadata (source, time, tags) may be stored in your personal knowledge base.

1.2 Device and usage information

Purpose: Reliability, diagnostics, and performance improvements.

Handling: We may collect non‑identifying events such as feature usage, error diagnostics, and OS version. We don’t use this for targeted advertising.

2. How we use information

• Provide core features: scan/OCR, translation (100+ languages), summarisation, and AI chat
• Save content to your knowledge base when you choose
• Improve experience, performance, and reliability
• Provide support and troubleshoot issues
• Ensure security and prevent abuse

3. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information or share your photos, audio, or saved content with third parties for advertising. We share information only if required by law, to protect rights, or with your explicit consent.

4. Third‑party services

4.1 Google Cloud Vertex AI

Purpose: OCR, translation, summarisation, and model inference (when you invoke features).

Handling: Submitted text/images are used only to fulfil your request and not to train Google models. Retention is limited to what’s necessary to provide the service. Saving results is your choice.

4.2 Firebase (Firestore/Storage, Analytics)

Purpose: Secure storage and anonymous usage analytics.

Handling: Saved content may be stored with device/installation identifiers as applicable. Analytics events help improve reliability and are not used for targeted ads.

5. Security & retention

• On‑device first; cloud only when requested or required
• Encryption in transit and secure storage
• Least‑privilege access control
• Regular security reviews

Saved content remains until you delete it. Diagnostic logs and analytics are kept for the period necessary to operate and improve the service.

6. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict processing, or obtain a copy of your data. Contact us via the app or email.

7. International transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States. We ensure compliance with applicable data protection laws.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. For material changes, we’ll notify you in‑app, by email, or with a prominent notice. Continued use means you accept the updated policy.
