Storage: Extracted text, translations, summaries, and metadata (such as source, date, and tags) may be saved to your personal knowledge base in the cloud when you choose to save or when auto-save is enabled in settings.

1.2 Device and Usage Information

Purpose: Helps us ensure reliability, diagnose issues, and improve performance.

Data Handling: We may collect non-identifying events such as feature usage, error diagnostics, and device metadata (for example, OS version). We do not sell this data or use it for targeted advertising.

4.1 Google Cloud Vertex AI API

Purpose: OCR, translation, summarization, and AI model inference for features you explicitly invoke.

Data Handling: Text and images you submit may be sent to Google Cloud Vertex AI for processing. We do not permit your data to be used to train Google's models; processing is limited to fulfilling your request. Inputs and outputs are not retained beyond what is necessary to provide the service unless you choose to save results in the app.

4.2 Firebase (Firestore/Storage, Analytics)

Purpose: Secure data storage and anonymous usage analytics.

Data Handling: Content you choose to save (for example, extracted text, translations, summaries, and metadata) may be stored in cloud storage/database tied to your app installation or device identifier as applicable. Analytics collects aggregated usage events to improve reliability; it is not used for targeted ads.
